City Gallery

The City of Kenmore and Arts of Kenmore are pleased to offer rotating shows by emerging and established artists in this beautiful setting.

Kenmore City Hall Gallery is a specific building design feature at Kenmore City Hall that promotes the City’s goal of providing a free venue to local Arts & Culture for the benefit of local artists and our citizens.

AOK curates 4-5 exhibitions each year in this unique gallery space. Artists of all ages are encouraged to submit works for consideration. Shows include variety of themes and genre, diversity and culture, traditional and experimental works.

City Gallery features the annual Youth Art Show and the Kenmore Art Show’s Best of Show artist with a solo exhibition. The gallery is available for regional arts organizations as space is available.

Your Poet Laureate

The Arts of Kenmore’s Youth Poet Laureate Initiative (AOK/YPL) is a pathway supporting youth building arts portfolio for career & college readiness: including publishing, leadership, and performance opportunities, and community engagement.

As If Theatre Company

Yes, Kenmore has an indie theatre company!  AITC was founded by the dynamic trio of Cindy French Giese, Amy Gentry & Molly Hall, whose energetic talents run the gamut of directing, acting, and stage management. Since 2019, AITC produces three main stage productions annually at the Kenmore Community Club, and professional workshops in directorial and dialogue training using local public art as storytelling prompts. AITC is empowered by the AOK Umbrella program.

Umbrella Fiscal Agency

Do you have a fabulous idea for an artsy project but don’t have a clue how to make it happen? AOK can guide you through project from concept to reality.

AOK is a Fiscal Agency extending our Nonprofit Umbrella benefits to citizen-driven art projects. Under the AOK Umbrella, our team guides the development, resources, and fiscal management your project needs to forge a path to sustainable success. AOK selects one to two projects each year. Current and past beneficiaries include As If Theatre Company, PopUp StoryWalk, Kenmore Mural Project, Legends Bench, and the CalPortland Art Banner.

Youth Art Show | YAS!

YAS has become one of the regions most vital competitions for emerging artists building portfolios for future vocations in Fine Art. Designed exclusively for 9-12 graders, the annual competition aligns with WA state’s OSPI Career & College Readiness program.  YAS is competitive! 30 works are accepted from an average 80+ entries each year from Kenmore to Olympia.

AOK Youth programs have no fee requirements to participate. Annual exhibitions run mid-November through January of the following year. Juried awards are scholarship-based in combined age groups (9-10, 11-12 graders).

Grants for Schools & Youth Scholarships

Grants for Schools – AOK supports local arts education by awarding grant funding to five Kenmore public schools (Inglemoor HS, Kenmore MS, Arrowhead, Moorlands and Kenmore Elem). Funding must be applied to arts-related education including but not limited to: supplies, instruments, costumes, literacy, specialists, field trips and competitions.  Administrators and teachers may apply for annual grant funding September though October annually.

Youth Scholarships – AOK offers award-based scholarships through our juried Youth Art Show and 48 Hour Youth Film Fest. Awards are presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place recipients in visual art age groups and variety film categories.

Visual Art submissions are open Sep through Oct.

Film Art submissions are open in April.
