A City Gallery art exhibition and documentary screening curated by MOSA | Museum of Special Art

CITY GALLERY in Kenmore City Hall is celebrating Disability Awareness by taking a dynamic dive into creative applications and interpretations of sight-impaired artists from around the country.

CANVAS EXHIBITION — Sep 15  through Nov 2 2023

Through the eyes of six visually impaired artists, emerges a vibrant collection of 25 visionary artworks on canvas and paper. These expressive works display the intimate connection the artists have with their physical materials and reflect the brilliance of the inter-sensory abilities of the blind artist during the creation process. Featuring artists John Bramblitt, Charles Blackwell, Elizabeth Castellano, Fred San Guiliano, Stella De Genova, and Jim Stevens.

STRAIGHT OFF THE CANVAS Film Screening — Oct 13, 6:30-8pm

The public is invited to experience “art beyond just a visual medium” in the award-winning documentary by Anthony Saldana & Jason Figueira, profiling exhibiting artist Elizabeth Castellano, and Jessica Jones and her students at Lavelle School for the Blind in Bronx, NY.

“Self Portrait” by Elizabeth Castellano, Acrylic on Canvas Board
