Throughout 2022 CITY GALLERY in Kenmore City Hall will feature “Unexpected Neighbors,” a series of exhibitions featuring ‘behind-the-scenes’ people, places and experiences in Kenmore.

CALM SEAS – Featuring the art of Steven Craig Holmes

February – March

Smell the sea, feel the wind & listen to the waves lapping the shore as you reflect on the artist’s unique expressions of nature.

You’ve likely met “Capt’ Steve,” owner of WhatsSup Stand-Up Paddle & Surf company with seasonal locations in Kenmore & Bothell, where you can rent paddle boards & kayaks or take yoga classes on paddle boards.

What you might not know is that when he isn’t on the water Steve finds peace and reflection in his home studio creating seascapes from memories of his Hawaiian island childhood and livelihood in the PNW waters.

Capt’ Steve grew up in Honolulu where he rowed a 10 ft. skiff to school because it was faster than walking! He began his career at 14 working as a safety diver and piloting dive boats. Before moving to the mainland, he ventured into entrepreneurship with Steve’s Diving Adventures in 1978.

Steve is also a powerful supporter of all things community, serving as President of Kenmore Business Alliance, supporting youth, the City, local businesses and nonprofits throughout Northshore.
